As the Digital & Social Media Marketing Manager for the U.S. Army’s Central California Recruiting Battalion, I supported marketing both in and outside the battalion’s 48,000+ square miles of California. So when the new Command Sergeant Major (CSM) wanted to give the battalion HQ offices a facelift, the “Battalion Makeover” campaign was born.
The CSM had a vision and through many conversations and meetings with him, we had an idea of what he wanted. So my main goal was to;
- Help support Help support the CSM by completing his vision of making over the HQ.
Below are the tactics that were used.
- Content Creation: I created basic mockup ideas for each makeover after meetings with the CSM using both Photoshop and CANVA.
- Campaign Logistics: As the POC for the 3rd party vendor, I collected and managed the marketing and art resources needed for them to complete their tasks, I also scheduled each meeting and managed them on Base during installation days.
- Social Media: I created post-campaign content that effectively extended the campaign’s reach.
Below were the final results.
Overall both the Command Sergeant Major and Battalion Commander were amazed at how well everything turned out. Even people who have been at the Battalion for 10+ years gave their seal of approval by taking photos of the improvements and sending them to former battalion commanders.
