When it comes to Army traditions the Change of Command and Change of Responsibility events are important parts of any battalion. As the Digital & Social Media Marketing Manager for the U.S. Army’s Central California Recruiting Battalion, it’s my job to help support those traditions.

GOALS

During 2023 we had both a new Command Sergeant Major and a Battalion Commander join the battalion. Both required large events at which the entire battalion would be attending. For my role, My goal was to;                                                            

  • Help support the event team with logistics and social media support.
STRATEGY

Below are the tactics that were used.

  • Marketing Material Creation: Redesigned the battalion’s event program to effectively promote both the new CSM and Commander while showcasing the new Army logo.
  • Event Logistics: I helped set up chairs, distribute event programs, and was part of the over all event as I managed the music section.
  • Event Photography: I took multiple photos during the event of all parties involved which were used for both social media posts and marketing content for the battalion.
  • Live Streaming: Successfully coordinated and executed a flawless live stream for the event a high-profile event, ensuring seamless broadcasting, troubleshooting technical issues on-the-fly, and engaging with the online audience.
  • Social Media: I created post-event social media content which effectively extended the event’s reach.
RESULTS

Below were the final results.

I successfully organized and executed my social media marketing duties for both a Change of Command and Change of Responsibility during my time at the U.S. Army’s Central California Recruiting Battalion.
